The Gourdacious Patch of Northeast Georgia meets the first Friday of each month (except for when there is a conflict such as a holiday) at the Habersham Senior Center in Demorest, Georgia starting at 10 a.m. We are looking for great teachers for the 2009 year and invite anyone who loves to teach to contact an officer and see if we can make a meeting work. June 12 and July 10 – Madge Sala will teach us how to make a trinket box. REMEMBER, we are meeting the second Friday of June (June 12) because of the Cherokee Gourd Gathering. 1) Girls will have to bring a Bottle gourd, maybe 6-8 inches not too big but not a mini either. Should have a small neck between the top and bottom. 2) A gourd saw 3) A xacto knife 4) A small piece of sandpaper Directions to Senior Center: I-85 north from Atlanta to 985 (veers to the left) to Gainesville, 985 will turn into 365 just north of Gainesville. Travel approx 25 miles to mile marker 47. Exit left at the traffic light onto Demorest/Mt. Airy Road. Turn first right. Go to the end of the road (keep to the right at the split). The senior center is the last brick building on the left.
