Gourd Education Day
2007-
Wrens, Georgia
Sponsored by The Coastal Gourd
Sprouts
This year classes
were set up in a round robin style!
When we finished the class and after putting some finishing touches on at home we
will have a wonderful Native American
sampler gourd looking similar to the one shown here. We used four different techniques
to produce this wonderful gourd, wax resist, leather dye, paint
and air dry clay. Time and weather did
not permit us to complete the project today but we got very close. The
wind was blowing so hard that everything wanted to blow away and the paint was
drying way to fast but thank goodness we didn't have any rain this year.
Lunch was wonderful, I think we should have everyone bring
their recipe with their dish next time, Ms. Lena's chicken and rice casserole
was my favorite - I MUST HAVE THAT RECIPE.
Below are some of the photos that were taken at Wrens by Tina Norford and Sarah Moon. If
you took photos Saturday and
would like to share them with everyone, please send them to me and I will
post them on this webpage. All photos sent to me will also be included in the
new DVD
Photo Slideshow that I am creating for the GGS show in July (unless you specify
otherwise). You may send
your photos to me via email or snail mail, I will scan hard copies and/or negatives and
return the originals to you unharmed.
